Episode 1: Whispers in the Fog
The screen fades in with dim lanterns flickering along a cobblestone street. Thick fog curls between the lamps. A faint whisper echoes, almost like a broken record of voices.
[Scene 1: The Encounter]
(Footsteps echo. Adrian walks cautiously through the misty street, trench coat collar turned up. His breath fogs in the cold night air.)
Adrian (thinking): This city… the fog’s thicker than ever. And the voices… they’re not fading. They’re getting louder.
(A shadow crosses the lantern light. A woman in a wide hat steps into view.)
Selene: “You hear them too, don’t you?”
Adrian (startled): “Who… are you?”
Selene (smirking faintly): “Someone who listens. The echoes call to those they choose. And tonight, they’ve chosen us.”
(The sound of faint whispers rises, unintelligible but insistent. A low rumble shakes the streetlights. Both look toward the fog — a pair of glowing eyes pierce through the mist.)
[Scene 2: The Scholar]
(Cut to a warmly lit study. Dr. Elias Grayson flips through old journals by candlelight. There’s a knock at the door. Adrian and Selene enter.)
Elias (adjusting glasses): “Mr. Cross. And you must be… Selene Ward. I’ve heard your name whispered in circles of the occult. What brings you here?”
Selene: “Not belief. Survival. There’s something walking in the fog tonight, and it wants to be heard.”
Adrian: “Doctor, you study human memory. What if… what if voices could remain even after death?”
Elias (dismissive chuckle): “Residual sounds? Psychological tricks. Nothing more.”
(The candles flicker violently. A chilling voice reverberates in the room — a layered chorus of whispers.)
Whispers (disjointed): “Help… us… beneath… the veil…”
(Elias freezes, his skepticism shaken.)
[Scene 3: The First Confrontation]
(The trio walk together through the foggy streets, lanterns flickering weakly. The whispers grow louder. Suddenly, the Shadow emerges — towering, its form undefined, eyes glowing gold.)
Adrian (gritting teeth): “Stay back…!”
Selene (stepping forward calmly): “No. Listen. It doesn’t want to harm us… not yet. It wants us to follow.”
Elias (whispering in fear): “That… thing can’t exist. It can’t—”
(The Shadow raises its hand. The street shatters into fragments of memory — ghostly images flicker in the air: a child crying, a man screaming, a fire raging. The echoes overlap until the trio clutch their heads in pain.)
Adrian (shouting): “Stop! What are you trying to show us?”
(The visions fade, leaving only silence. The Shadow retreats into the fog, but its glowing eyes linger for a moment before vanishing.)
[Scene 4: The Pact]
(Back at Elias’s study, the three sit in silence, shaken.)
Elias (hands trembling): “…I felt them. Memories not my own. Pain, loss… fear. If this is real, then—”
Selene (firmly): “Then the city is crying for help. And we’re the only ones who can hear it.”
Adrian (determined): “…The echoes led us here. If we don’t uncover the truth, more will come. Worse will come.”
(He clenches his fist. Selene tips her hat, smiling faintly. Elias sighs, resigned but intrigued.)
Elias: “Then consider me part of your… investigation. Though I suspect I’ll regret it.”
(The lanterns outside flicker again, and faint whispers crawl back into the night air. The camera pans upward — the Shadow’s silhouette looms against the full moon, watching.)
